New visit type! Read more below to find out more information on this valuable addition to OptimisPT!

Q: In the case that there are not 6 measures for a discipline to report in the following cases, can you please advise how this will impact the score? 1. Speech and Language Pathology/Speech Therapist: Only 3 available measures at all times for this specialty 2. Physical Therapy: Usually 6 128 130 131 154 155 182 If, however, the patient is not at risk for falls and does not need a falls POC, they are at 4 measures for that EOC; some patients would then have 6 measures and others would have 4. If you could indicate how this would impact the score, it would be greatly appreciated. Therapists are concerned they are going to have difficulty meeting the data completeness threshold or falling short on points for that category.

Q: It was proposed that measure 154 and 155, Falls Risk assessment and Falls POC will be going away and replaced with a combined measure. Can you please verify if this is accurate? If so, physical therapist will now only have 5 measures to report (unless reporting via a QCDR or qualified registry). What happens to their score if this is the case?

Q: Can you advise on how I should be using the data on the QPP lookup tool? While it has the 2018 data present, it still lists physical therapists as “not an eligible provider type”. As we’re directing PTs to the site to see if they meet the low performance threshold based on data previous years, they are not understanding how to use this page to determine if they will have to report this year as a mandatory reporter or if they can “opt-in” since it does not seem the data is up-to-date to see if they have to participate (again, primarily because it says not an eligible provider. Please advise on how a physical therapist, where the 2019 performance year is the first year where we would have to submit MIPS measures, should evaluate whether they are mandatory reporters, or if they don’t meet all 3 of the low-volume threshold and can opt-in?

Q: If I am a clinician in my 1st year of Medicare Part B participation but I join a practice that is reporting as a group, is it mandatory that I report?

Q: If you submit via a QCDR and also claims, will that cause problems?

Q: If you submit 1/2 of the year via claims and switch to a registry mid-year, how will your score be calculated if submitting via an individual NPI?

Q: Is there a way to check your MIPS score quarterly to see how you’re doing if you’re submitting via claims?
